Anti-Virus & End Point Protection

Anti-Virus Software: To understand why you need antivirus software it helps to understand its function. There are now a number of threats to your computers that go way beyond standard viruses. ‘Malware’ is the umbrella term that describes the many things that can attack your machine. These include viruses, Trojan horses, key loggers, worms, adware, spyware and a number of other nasty threats that can put your personal information and systems at risk. Antivirus software detects these threats and blocks them to prevent them from doing any harm.

End Point Protection: To transfer data from one computer to another, most employees use mobile devises such as USB’s. However there is a threat with these as they can contain viruses, so if an employee downloads confidential information and data from a computer, it could lead to issues for the company. Endpoint security protects the network whilst it’s being accessed by the remote device such as laptops, PCs, smart phones, tablets and specialized equipment. An endpoint security system is controlled by the central server including security software being installed to the device. To allow access to the network the server recognizes the device and lets it continue, therefore only recognized devises can access the server. An additional benefit of endpoint security is that it normally comes with antivirus software, anti-spyware and firewall protection. Endpoint security needs to be used within businesses as nowadays employees use remote devices to work while traveling or at home and at the same time transfer information, so in order to do this with no risks endpoint security is a must have.
